Gothic Beauty

Danielle Naibert

"Issue 3 has expanded to 56 pages in length with
fashion content including an interview with gothic designer Rose
Mortem, a fetish set from Vampire Technology (images by Amelia G
& Forrest Black), a fashion set from Toronto's House Of Ill
Repute, a fashion set featuring HellBelle showcasing for
Northbound Leather, Lilith Stabs showcasing various fashions,
Anastasia Heonis showing gothic swimwear, and fabulous article
and fashion set by Donna Ricci showcasing many gothic designers.
Also feature music interviews with Diva Destruction, RAKIT, Mors
Syphilitica, and Ashengrace."
I have never had the pleasure of reading a Gothic magazine that I
highly enjoyed from cover to cover, filled with intelligence and
beautiful clothing, until I received Gothic Beauty.
The articles included were well written, fully descriptive and
enjoyable. I appreciated the time the authors took in writing
these articles, and I learned a lot about some new artists that I
otherwise would have never had discovered. I am generally
speaking about Diva Destruction, a band that I
am interested in hearing their music (but I cannot find in this
small town...of course). The questions were interesting, and the
responses were great. I even got a kick that the author; Astrid,
asked about "beauty" tips. In fact, I ended up doing my
hair in the style that the singer does. (tattered ribbons in my
hair, and I like it!)
There is also a short article pertaining to "Vampire
Technology". Now, I am not a fan of latex clothing fashion,
but I still found the article interesting, and the photos
tasteful.
Those are just two small samples of the great articles involved
with Gothic Beauty. This magazine doesn't just compose of fashion
clothing and ads, but they include well written articles that are
right up this here ol' goths field.
But onto the fashions. If your not a reader, the photos included
in this magazine will keep you returning to it. The models are
beautiful young ladies and gentleman, they wear the clothing with
style and even make clothing I would not even look at twice
appealing. (In fact, I ended up purchasing a dress because of
this issue)
What I appreciate is, is the fact that they include a description
for the clothing and a price. Also included are websites so that
Goth Internet junkies can find more information pertaining to the
clothing.
The inside photos are done in black and white, but don't let that
throw you. The photos still catch the magical appeal the gothic
style holds.
Quite a few people are taken back by how many ads are in today's
magazine, well, I will tell you, that the ads that are included
in this magazine are interesting. They still in line with the
genre of this magazine. In fact, I again discovered a few new
products that I am interested in finding, one is a movie I never
heard of and of course, again, I cannot find anywhere. (not even
on Ebay)
This is a magazine I highly recommend for your fashion needs,
music needs and intelligent articles.
