MISPLACED
LOVE
by
Chris Ambrose

Pale hands, touching in
the moonlight,
we've passed a thousand lives together
in but the blinking of an eye.
Together we walk secret ways
through bowers formed by ancient oaks
leading us into deeper gloom.
There are few among the living
who would understand our misplaced love,
fewer yet the dead who would care
The bond we forged under
starlight's
watchful gaze has long served us well
as we glide through the land of dreams
