Please make yourself comfortable.  I'm an Elder Goth Lady.  I grew up watching  late night horror films and their hosts on television and aspiring to become a hostess myself one day, reading fiction by authors like Robert Bloch, Bram Stoker, H. P. Lovecraft, and Richard Matheson, and was thrilled by E.C. Horror Comic reprints and early issues of CREEPY and EERIE.  I watched THE MUNSTERS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY and so longed to be a member of one of those families....(Sigh...)  As a very young child, like most children, I feared the dark; eventually, I reasoned that my best chance for survival was in fooling those things that dwell in darkness that I was one of them, and it seemed to work...until, at one point, a dramatic realization struck me.  I awakened to the fact that I had never been fooling them with my pretense.   I was one of them!

I especially appeal to Elder Goths...those of us who have seen more seasons come and go, but have always had dark hearts, long before the Gothic subculture emerged.  Yet, I also welcome younger contributors, and I know that many of you have old souls.
