After the adhesive is completely dry, apply a layer, or layers, of joint compound to the edge of the
plywood platform so the edge of the upper piece of plywood is covered with compound. Blend layers of
mud up onto the shell surface... sanding and modeling with as much care as possible (trying to minimize
the amount of dust and powder of course). Make the surface, of the rock, appear to abruptly stop at the
gap between the two plywood platforms (again, look at the photo above). After final sanding, clean the surface of any loose materials by brushing or using a slightly dampened cloth or paper towel. |
