Horn Barrettes

I found these horn barrettes (hair clips) in Hot Topic in October 2004. They are made by Dez Demona Productions (www.littledevilhorns.com)

[photo] These horns are available in two sizes (small and large) and two colors (red and black).

The horns are very light and comfortable to wear. Since they are barrettes (hair clips), you just have to snap them in!

Polymer Clay Horns

You could make these yourself quite easily, and we considered doing so. But when we encountered a nice set of horns for $8 at out local renaissance faire, it seemed much easier than the do-it-yourself approach.

[photo] These horns are usually sold as a pair, strung on a leather thong. The thong goes over the head, under the chin, and secures the horns; you can comb your hair to hide the thong.

Alternatively you can simply glue them on your head with prosthetic adhesive. NOTE: Polymer clay horns are too heavy to work perfectly with prosthetic adhesive. I can normally wear that combination for about 4 hours before the horns droop or fall off.

[photo] The horns themselves are hand-formed of two or three colors of polymer clay marbled together. These are black with a sparkley red.

Dennis thinks they go well with his red and yellow FX contacts. Perhaps a bit more red in the horns would have improved the match.

Erin has a pair of polymer clay horns that contain blue, purple, and glow-in-the dark.
