Commercial LED Creature Eyes

There seems to be a lot of excitement of the various Halloween e-mail lists concerning LED eyes for creatures. I'm a little ambivalent about this, because with LED eyes it is easy to do something, but hard to do something good.

The circuit provides two LED eyes that brighten and dim automatically.
They offer red, blue, white, green, orange, yellow, and UV.
LED Eyes come in three cycles: I = Slow, a seven second cycle ; II = Medium, a five second cycle; III = Fast, a three second cycle. The dimming and brightening phases are identical in all three but the time of maximum brightness is changed to vary the total cycle time
Runs on a 9V battery. Average life for a heavy duty battery is about 48 continuous hours.

The circuit controls 15 pairs of L.E.D.s that look like beady little rodent eyes. All the eyes are normally on, with one pair at a time blinking off in semi-random fashion, as if the animal had to close its eyes briefly.
Runs off of 4 AA batteries.
Various LED options are available.
The pairs of eyes are on 4' wires so that they can be placed around the cave, bushes, etc.
Kit with all the parts, chips, circuit board, and 40' of wire - $20.00.

Color Changing Eye Effects

The circuit provides two LED eyes that automatically change color.
The unit is easily configured for one of five different effects: 1-Slow Blending Color Change-Colors blend from Red to Orange to Green and back again. 2-Fast Blending Color Change-As above but faster. 3-Quick Strobe Change-Red/Green Strobing changing in speed and blending to Orange then slowing to the Red/Green strobe. 4-Fading Strobe-Increasing green intensity, strobing Red then fading Green. 5-Orange Pulse-A quick hypnotizing, orange strobe.
The module can be set for one of five different effects.
Runs for 24-28 hours using a 9 volt battery or many days with optional 4 AA battery holder.
