Ahhhh... Halloween. The greatest holiday to ever be celebrated in America.
The one night each year when ghouls, ghosts, zombies, witches, monsters, freaks,

creeps and weirdos are welcomed out into the night by all. Werewolves howling,
screams and shrieks of terror, chainsaws tearing through flesh; From dusk until dawn
none will notice the sounds.
You could tear a man's heart out on his own front porch, and passers would
think it to be a show...
Now candy and four bucks in pennies and dimes was fun until I was
about eight years old, but after that it became much more fun to sit at
home with a bunch of scary movies and stay up all night in fear. Or go out
and check out the haunted houses/barns/hayrides or whatever other attractions
were around. It's been like that to this day. These days there's a kick-ass
party to go to every year and I can always get a group together to go play
in the graveyards. It's such a lovely feeling to walk around town surrounded
by vampires and mummies, Jason and Pinhead with Freddy at their side and the
Scream killer hand-in-hand with Elvira. There are so many horrifying things to see
and do...
Looking back, I've had some good Halloweens and some bad ones. When I was 14
I had a bunch of kids over and we played Truth or Dare and watched movies.
After a bit, the game turned completely sexual, and then extremely sick.
One kid had to lick a full ashtray, another had to pierce her nipple with
a safety pin in front of all, and I think some girl had to lick a guy's belly button.
I had some twisted friends... Still do. The year after that I went up to my girlfriend's
house, the two of us and some girl she knew had to take her little cousins out
trick-or-treating. So we did that, then we went to a few haunted houses, and we
ended up back at my g/f's house. The three of us went up to her room and messed
around with a quija board for a bit, then that twistedness came out again. We
sliced ourselves up and dripped blood and candlewax all over each other,
then took a bunch of pictures. Then we went to the woods nearby and took
a few more shots, finishing the night by sitting in an old schoolyard with
candles all around and talking about the most hideous way to kill someone
that we could think of.
When I was 16, I met up with a bunch of friends and we camped out in this
old run-down house for the night, partied, tried to scare each other, that sorta
stuff. Last year started out fairly lousy, but it ended up being a pretty
good Halloween. I was planning on throwing a party, but by the time I put everything
together and started to tell people about it, most everyone had plans already.
At first I sat at home waiting to see if anyone was going to show up. When not a person
came-a-knockin', I decided to go out walking around until I found something to do.
This may have been the best decision I have ever made on a holiday. I just
kept meeting people I knew. Everyone was going to parties and invited me along.
I'd run into someone, go to a party, hang out for a bit and continue on, repeating the
process... I think I'll be doing that again this year.
