Nostradamus
Who was the man that doomsayers unequivocally state predicted the catastrophes that have happened to, and in, the world? Michel Nostradamus was a 16th century French physician and astrologer. He has been elevated to the status of prophet. His predictions are written in the poetic form quatrain, but do they really predict events that have or will occur? What has been added since 1566 when the good doctor breathed his last?
Good research gives all writers a touch of reality that frequently raises the question, "What if?" That is the question behind all stories, and the answer may take us to the macabre or some quiet lagoon.
http://skepdic.com/nostrada.html is Nostradamus from a Skeptics Point of View and a good place to gather tidbits that might happen.

Rumors of War
President George W. Bush stated, "I'm not gonna fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt." This is true.
One of the stories is about renowned newscaster Peter Jennings, who ended up being in the news for what he did not say.
High on the list of "what if" is war. Rumors have spread throughout the Internet until reality has been merged into suppositions. This site will provide the rumor, the reaction, and the reality. Rumors have fueled the writer's imagination since the first petroglyph was carefully drawn by a creative cave dweller. Okay, so I cannot state that as truth, but it is a good example of a rumor, and that is food for writers.
http://www.snopes2.com/rumors/rumors.htm is a fascinating site where you can hunt for the facts, and maybe develop a good story on your excursion.

Crop Circle Connector
The crop circle phenomena brings out the UFO, alien stories, and other possibilities quickly. However, the question is are they real? In fiction, does it matter if imagination creates illusions?
Creativity must be nudged for any writer. This site has archived many of the amazing pictographic history at http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/gallery/circlegallery99.html. Some of these images have been modified to show the formations without the tram lines running through them. This is the only case of manipulation. Crop circles exist, have existed for years, and can take your imagination through the maze of possibilities and into story land.
If your lust for information drags you into deeper research, then examine at some of the links. I tested a few, but found that they ultimately brought me back to the Connector, so if you want more information you have to pay, which you can do through PayPal http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/anasazi/connect.html. ~~
