Long before the film there was the written word. Long before we settled down in
front of video or now DVD players for our fright-fests, we would read tales of
terror by candlelight.
For most, this has been lost, however there are still those that prefer the pages
to celluloid or even both and why not?
This section then is for you. To help you to search through the rubbish and find
stories worth your time to read. If you're an avid reader of horror novels then
why not join 'Castle Dracula' as an official 'staff member' reviewing them.

- Revelation -
- Bentley Little -
Bentley Little weaves a horrific tale of unspeakable evil in this chilling, mind-numbing
little tale.
Through the point of view of many characters, they all begin to realize that something
is definitely not right. From strange occurrences to brutal attacks, it slowly becomes
clear that something evil has it's grasp on their little town, and it's up to a select
number of citizens to bring the force down before it consumes them all.
"Revelation" has it’s share of chilling violence, unrelenting gore, and some genuinely
frightening scenes. Little is great at doing all of the above and "Revelation," is one
of the best of his novels I’ve read so far.
Every one of the characters came across as solid. Told through third person, there was
a nice selection of 'main' characters to latch onto. 'Gordon,' 'Marina,' 'Jim' and 'Matt,'
all come across as real people who helped make "Revelation" what it was.
Bentley Little is always dark with his writing, and this is the same scenario. His wording
is sophisticated but smooth, his pace is well-planned, tense, and surprising when it’s
intended to be.
The bottom line folks, is that if you haven't read "Revelation" (Or "The House" for that
matter), you're missing out. Bottom line. If you enjoy sheer fear in an interesting setting,
then Revelation is the way to go. From chilling events to tragic finales, Bentley Little
has what it takes to reach the top.
