Giant ape Tor and his prehistoric plateau later turned up in Frankenstein in the Lost World, sixth in Don's "New Adventures of Frankenstein" series of novels.

The name "Tor" was inspired by the 1950s comic book series (to this day one of Don's favorites) written, drawn and edited by Joe Kubert.
